Lesley Norris

Lesley NorrisLesley graduated from University of South Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Mental Health and completed Masters Degree at Nova Southeastern University in Mental Health Counseling by 2000. She was licensed in Florida by 2004.

Lesley started working with chronic and persistent mental health clients in a residential facility at the beginning of her career. Then, in 2000, she began working in community mental health with families. She has worked with adults with mental health issues as well as change of life circumstances.  She has worked with traumatic events with adults to assist them to move forward in life. She has provided couples counseling to assist with their relationships.  Lesley has worked with teenagers with trauma, who were going through legal issues for multiple reasons. She has provided intensive counseling to families in crisis or that have multiple areas of life in conflict. Most recently working with early childhood issues with families who have children 0-5 years old. Issues have included behavior problems at home or pre-k, trauma, parenting issues, and being born exposed to substances in utero.

Lesley has supervised therapist interns into licensure and built programs to serve families from the ground up.  Lesley has currently joined Solutions Counseling in 2019 to return working with families, teens, and young children where her passion lies.  She was trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, deep relaxation techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy using Feedback Informed Treatment.
