Elaina has worked with children for over thirty years in a variety of residential treatment facilities. She worked her way up to the role of a Residential Director of residential programs and group homes in MA serving children with disabilities and their families. Upon receiving her LICSW in MA she was promoted to the Clinical Director overseeing residential programs and group homes for teenage girls. She was responsible for all clinical components of the facilities, individual and family counseling, DBT groups, and the oversight of other clinical staff in the programs.
In 2007, Elaina moved to Florida to work with children in schools with emotional/behavioral disabilities in self-contained classrooms. She was certified in Social Work, Exceptional Education and Pre-3rd grade as an instructional educator. Since working in the school system Elaina has been a strong advocate for the students with disabilities. She has an extensive amount of clinical experience working with these children and their families.
Elaina has been responsible for the oversight and the development of the Social Behavior Program in two elementary schools since her hire to the Pasco County School system in 2007. She case manages all the students in her program, runs social skills groups, develops functional behavior assessments, and develops behavior intervention plans for both school and home while supporting the teachers and the students within a therapeutic milieu. Elaina utilizes the training she has participated in Pasco County Schools in Positive Behavior Support, Applied Behavior Analysis, Response to Interventions and Autism. She has a strong interest in emotional regulation, relaxation techniques, sensory integration and mindfulness.
Elaina utilizes a cognitive behavior and solution focused approach to assisting clients with finding resolutions for their presenting issue(s). She has extensive experience working with all ages as she joins with them to seek positive solutions and outcomes.
Although Elaina specializes with working with children and their families she will work with individuals, couples and their families. She will assist and guide you through a solution focused approach to tackle a variety of issues. She is especially experienced with managing crisis situations, conflict resolution, teaching self-regulation and self-soothing techniques, anger management, improving executive functioning skills, play therapy, social skills training, parenting education, conduct and behavioral issues, child and adult mental health issues and those who have suffered trauma.
Elaina will provide a positive nurturing supportive approach toward finding meaningful lasting solutions. She offers flexible hours including week nights and weekend hours.
